The Intersection of Racial Justice and Advocacy; Lessons from 2020

Speaker: Jacqueline Boyd, Owner, Founder and President of The Care Plan

Date and Time: September 23, 2020/5:30 pm -7:30pm

This interactive CE webinar will open the door to an open conversation to address the changing landscape case management and others in the ‘caring professions face’ in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and the death of George Floyd which triggered protests around the world as people took to the streets in a show of unity against unambiguous act of injustice to people of color.

Together we will discuss how the pandemic has exposed racial disparities within our healthcare systems and share how advocacy practices to effectively support Black, Latinx, Asian-American, and American Indian/Alaska Native clients can improve the quality of care provided across the care continuum.

Ms. Boyd will also provide resources to combat racism on a personal and organizational level to help you create more welcoming and culturally affirming organizations.

You are encouraged to bring your questions and lessons learned to share with your colleagues as part of the webinar.  The voices of Black, Latinx, Asian-American and American Indian/Alaska Native practitioners will be centered in this workshop.
